The studio was founded by Ryan Gormley, an architect with over a decade of experience across a broad range of projects - from large-scale commercial and educational buildings through to bespoke new homes, complex renovations, and carefully considered extensions. Nominated for a RIBA award during his architectural studies, Ryan’s commitment to considered design has been a constant throughout his career.

That breadth of experience matters. It means the expertise brought to your home isn’t limited by its scale and that the technical complexity of basement construction, swimming pools, or intricate MEP coordination is entirely familiar territory.

Studio Context was founded with a clear purpose: to build a practice where the client leads. Where good design isn’t a luxury reserved for large budgets, and where every project, however modest, is approached with genuine care and architectural rigour. That conviction shaped the practice from day one.

Studio Context works with a carefully selected network of structural engineers, planning consultants, interior designers, and specialist contractors assembled around each project to bring exactly the right expertise to bear. What remains constant is the architectural leadership. Every project is personally directed by Ryan from first conversation through to completion.

Every project begins with listening. Understanding not just what you’re asking for, but the life you’re designing around. From there, every decision - spatial, material, technical - is made in service of that. It’s an approach that doesn’t change with the size of the project. Only the answer does.
